- Can be mounted indoors and outdoors, suspended vertically. Removable and transportable.
- Available in two power categories.
AFFORDABLE CHARGING WITH VARIABLE TARIFFS
The Wattpilot enables your customers to charge their electric vehicles particularly economically, thanks to variable tariffs. Flexible electricity tariffs follow current stock market prices and are applied to the customer with a minimal mark-up. Electricity prices are generally lower at night, and when large amounts of solar and wind power are available. It therefore makes sense to charge electric vehicles during these periods.
This is possible with Fronius' intelligent recharging solution: thanks to the Solar.wattpilot application, customers can easily configure the maximum amount they wish to recharge their electric car in Eco mode. The Wattpilot then always recharges when the price is less than or equal to the set value.
- This feature is currently only available in Austria (aWattar Hourly) and Germany (Lumina.Strom). Deployment in other countries is planned.
INTELLIGENT RECHARGING MODES FOR GREATER FLEXIBILITY
Two charging modes are available, configurable via the app or directly on the Wattpilot:
ECO MODE
Eco mode is the ideal charging mode for owners of photovoltaic systems. This mode allows you to recharge firstly with surplus solar energy from the photovoltaic system, and for the remainder, if necessary, to use electricity at variable tariffs. This combination makes charging affordable.
NEXT TRIP MODE
Next Trip mode recharges the car for a specific journey (in kWh) at a specific time. The amount of energy required for the planned trip, and the time, are simply configured in the application. The Wattpilot recharges the electric car with the required amount of energy up to the desired time. Priority is given to recharging using surplus solar energy and at times when electricity tariffs are most flexible. In this way, the defined charge is always guaranteed, and in the most economical way possible.
CHARGING YOUR CAR WITH SOLAR POWER - USING SURPLUS SOLAR ENERGY
Charging your electric car with power from a photovoltaic system makes sense for a number of reasons:
- Increasing the maximum self-consumption rate of a photovoltaic system
- Faster amortisation of the photovoltaic system
- Cheaper current for the electric car
With surplus solar energy, the Wattpilot takes full advantage of these benefits.
Switching between single-phase and three-phase current, and regulating in 1 ampere steps, enables optimum use of surplus energy from 1.38 kW to 22 kW. Switching is fully automatic and significantly increases self-consumption rates.
Another advantage of charging with surplus solar energy is the ability to avoid consumption peaks during charging.
