The Grundfos Renewable Solar Inverter (RSI) is an off-grid solar inverter that converts the DC output power of the solar panel into AC power for pump operation.
The RSI can be used in both new and existing systems, provided the motor characteristics are compatible and suitable for use with a variable frequency drive.

The IP66 Intelligent Solar Inverter (RSI) is designed to work with large Grundfos pumps, greatly increasing the possibilities for solar water solutions. It is designed for continuous or intermittent operation. The system is
suitable for a variety of water supply systems, including irrigation.

RSI is AC and DC compatible. The RSI can be connected to the grid or to a generator as backup power during solar panel interruptions.

Weatherproof for outdoor installation

With an IP66 protection class, the RSI is resistant to rain, dust and sand, which means there's no need for a sealed cabinet with ventilation and air filter. The RSI can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 60°C. In addition to significant installation savings, placing the inverter under the solar panel means that only a very short DC cable is required, which is an extremely important safety benefit for users and staff alike.


Continuous system optimization

Advanced MPPT software continuously optimizes the system by compensating for environmental effects on the solar panels, improving power and water production by up to 30%. Coverage of environmental effects:
1) temperature compensation,
2) management of several local power points due to partial shading,
3) protection against power oscillations due to fast-moving clouds.


Quick installation with Grundfos pump motors

The Quick Setup Wizard quickly matches the RSI to a wide range of Grundfos pumps. With an integrated Grundfos motor library, all you have to do is confirm the motor type and preset value; no parameter entry is required for Grundfos pumps. This means:
1) installation completed in less than 5 minutes, and
2) allows RSI configuration in the workshop prior to a "plug-and-pump" experience on site.


AC / DC compatible

You can switch the solar inverter to mains or generator power if required, as the inverter is compatible with both AC and DC power inputs without the need for parameter changes. Simply connect the two power sources via an external switchbox, and you'll enjoy solar power during the day and grid or generator power at night.
