How It Works:
The solar panels (not included) generate electricity, which is converted into alternating current by the inverter. The excess energy is stored in the lithium battery. You can then use this stored energy when solar production is insufficient or during off-peak hours.

Three-phase hybrid inverter
A three-phase inverter is an essential electrical device for converting electricity between direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) in systems using three-phase power. It is frequently used in industrial and commercial contexts, enabling efficient distribution of electrical energy to power equipment such as electric motors or three-phase loads.
Sofar Solar tri 10 kVA - HYD-KTL-3PH
The HYD 5K...20KTL-3PH three-phase hybrid inverter from SofarSolar is a versatile solution for energy storage in photovoltaic systems, offering back-up power up to 20 kW in 10 ms. Equipped with two MPPTs and two independent battery ports, it can be configured in a variety of ways.
Up to 10 inverters can be connected in parallel for microgrids. The energy management system features user-friendly modes and compatibility with the AMASS Store battery unit. The DC output can be used for grid feeding or battery charging. The emergency power mode ensures rapid switching for inductive loads, with temporary overloads of up to 10% possible.
With two MPPs and 1.5 times overload, it offers a smooth transition between grid and storage. Maximum charge/discharge efficiency reaches 97.8%. Monitoring is via RS485 and WiFi, optionally via Bluetooth/GPRS.

Hybrid Inverters: Operating modes
Self-use mode
- If PV production matches consumption, the inverter neither charges nor discharges the battery.
- If PV production exceeds consumption, surplus energy is stored in the battery.
- If the battery is full or at maximum charging capacity, surplus energy is exported to the grid .
- If PV production is lower than consumption, the battery is discharged to supply energy to the loads.
- If load is higher than PV production plus battery, the inverter imports energy from the grid.
- Supply priority: PV > Battery > Grid
- Consumption priority: Loads > Battery > Grid
Time-of-Use Mode:
- The user can define up to four rules on when the battery should be charged.
- Each rule can be activated or deactivated and includes time of day, percentage of battery charge (SOC), charging power, efficiency date and days of the week .
Timing Mode.
- The user can define fixed times of the day to charge or discharge the battery with a given power.
- Up to four rules can be defined, and each rule can be activated or deactivated separately for charging or discharging .
Passive Mode.
- Intended for systems with external energy management systems using the Modbus RTU protocol to control the inverter.
- If the battery is fully charged or at its maximum charging power, PV production is reduced by adjusting the maximum power point (MPPT).
- If PV production is lower than consumption, the battery supplies the loads .
EPS Mode (EPS Mode).
- When this mode is activated, the inverter supplies energy to loads when it is off-grid, for example when there is no connection to the public grid or during power failures.
- If PV production exceeds consumption, the surplus is stored in the battery .
These modes allow the user to flexibly manage how energy is stored and used, optimizing the use of batteries and solar power generation.

Configuration steps:
1. After starting the application, register as a new user or enter your current SOLARMAN access data.
2. Create a new system and save the system data.
3. Scan the stick logger barcode to assign an inverter to the system.
4. Access the newly created system to configure the stick logger (device/logger).
5. Press the WiFi stick button for 1 second to activate the stick's WPS mode so that the smartphone can be connected to the WiFi stick.
6. Now select your local WiFi network for Internet access and enter your WiFi password.
7. The WiFi key is configured with access data.

SOFARSOLAR's BTS E5-E20-DS5 is an intelligent battery system consisting of the BTS 10K battery module and a BTS 10-BDU battery distribution unit. Operating at high DC input and output voltages, its modular design allows flexible configuration according to user requirements, with storage capacities ranging from 5 to 40 kWh. The modular design facilitates installation and transport, and the system is compatible with Sofar Solar HYD 5...20KTL-3PH inverters.
