Victron Energy's Phoenix Multiplus combines in a single device a converter with a very high, perfectly sinusoidal output voltage, a fully-fledged battery charger with full power output and a 4A output for the starter battery.
The new-style MultiPlus is designed to replace the old MultiPlus Compact range. It brings together a powerful sine wave converter, a sophisticated charger with adaptive charging technology and an ultra-fast AC transfer switch.
The Victron Energy MultiPlus works in parallel with a generator or grid connection, increasing the electrical power available. Are you experiencing a temporary power shortage? If demand exceeds the capacity of the generator, the MultiPlus will draw additional energy from the batteries and add it to the output. When power demand falls, the MultiPlus will use the surplus to recharge the batteries. With the MultiPlus, you can use virtually any appliance, despite the low 4A offered by a campsite "network", for example.

The Multi Control panel lets you limit the power to be supplied by the platform or generator. The MultiPlus then takes into account the power demand of other AC loads at the output and will only use the surplus for the load, thus avoiding any overloading of the shore power or generator supply.
Necessary for starting loads with high inrush currents, such as power converters for LED or halogen bulbs, or power tools.
If Search mode is set to "on", the converter's power consumption is reduced by around 70% if no load is available. With this mode, when the Multi is operating in inverter mode, it is switched off in the event of no load or very low load, then switched on every two seconds for a short period. If the load current exceeds the set level, the inverter continues to operate. Otherwise, the inverter stops again.
By default, the programmable relay is configured as an alarm relay, i.e. the relay is de-energized in the event of an alarm or pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, input ripple almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).
